ABOUT CHAI AND HAKOL
CHAI
Concern for Helping Animals in Israel (CHAI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization formed in the U.S. in 1984 to
improve the condition and treatment of Israel's
animals. CHAI is active within Israel through
its Israeli sister charity, Hakol Chai, a
nonprofit organization registered in Israel in
2001. We believe that major improvements grow
from the foundations, and we therefore work for
change through education and legislation. Hand
in hand with our long-term work, we create
real-time change by taking direct action and
saving animals during war as well as peace.
Our achievements include creating
educational programs for young students that
foster empathy and responsibility towards all
living beings and the environment we live in;
operating the first mobile spay/neuter clinic
for companion animals in the Middle East;
cat and dog rescue; rescuing horses and providing
lifetime care and shelter for the horses we've
saved; and
campaigning against horse racing and the use of
cart horses in Israel. Please watch a
video overview of CHAI's
accomplishments.
